Exhibition: April 6, 2019 to May 5, 2019

This is a gallery exhibition. There will be no prizes awarded. There is no charge to exhibit your art work.

We are looking to have an idea of approximately how many artists may be showing their art.

You can provide details of your artwork now or in the future. By registering, you are in no way obligated to have your artwork at the Exhibit.

General Information

This is a gallery exhibition. There will be no prizes awarded. There is no charge to exhibit your art work.

  • All art must remain on exhibit through May 5, no early pickups, no exceptions.
  • Art must depict animals that live wild in Michigan – mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles (also includes animals that once inhabited Michigan). Not acceptable are domesticated pets, zoo/captive animals or farm animals.
  • Mediums: Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Ink, Pencil, Charcoal, Pastels, Wood Carving, Wood Burning, Stained Glass, Sculpture, Pottery/Ceramics and Photography.
  • Original art only, no prints (photography prints allowed) and no posters. No abstracts. No duplicated class room art.
  • Each artist may exhibit up to three (3) pieces of art.
  • Maximum size 36 inches wide x 48 inches long, including the frame, if framed. Sculptures must be able to set on a table or free standing on the floor, and be easily movable by one person, without mechanical assistance (maximum weight 50 lbs.). Stained glass must set on a table or the floor and the artist must provide an easel for it. Canvas paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped. Saw tooth hangers are not acceptable, and art should be wired and ready to hang.
  • Art work deemed not suitable or not within guidelines may be rejected by the National Park Service or the curators.
  • Acceptance dates are Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Pick up dates are Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 10, 2019 between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If you can not drop off or pick up your art during these times, please call Shawna Mazur at 734-639-2345 ext. 120 to make alternate arrangements.

The River Raisin National Battlefield Park, the River Raisin National Battlefield Foundation and the curators will not be held liable for any damage, loss, or stolen art work. Every precaution will be taken to secure and protect your art. We will not be responsible for insecure wiring (for hanging) the artist has attached to their art. If you register online, you will be sent a form to sign and return.

Tickets for the Gala are $25.00 Each 

  • Each ticket holder will be given two (2) complimentary beverage tickets. Additional glasses of wine and soft
    drinks may be purchased.
  • Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served.
  • Complimentary coffee and water will be provided.
  • There will be live music for your entertainment.
  • You will receive a complimentary Art Exhibition catalog.
  • A silent auction will take place.
  • Art work will be for sale starting at the Gala.
  • All proceeds from the event will benefit the Battlefield Foundation’s educational programming.
